Halloween

October 31, 2011

This Halloween was kind of lazy. I didn’t go to the pumpkin patch, I didn’t even carve a pumpkin! I didn’t even bake a single cookie or cupcake. I did however decorate our apartment (the inside). The beginning of October I walked up to Dollarama and bought a ton of stuff for $20. I thought it would be a nice idea to surprise Dave and he was surprised (+10 girlfriend points). Anyways, on Friday Dave had to run up to Michaels to pick me up some Peacock feathers for my costume. He got me two small ones ($4.99 a piece.  The large ones were $9.99!) I’m kind of mad I didn’t plan my costume out better. My aunt and uncle have two ‘pet’ peacocks and apparently they’re feathers just shed. I would have been able to use LEGIT peacock feathers. I’m kicking myself. I’m still going to see if I can head out to Abbotsford and pick some up, I think they’d make a great medium for a craft project.

Saturday Dave had a few friends over for his birthday and then we head over to The Lion. I’m going to avoid talking about the bit of drama that happened at the end of the evening. I’ll just leave it at I don’t think I like drinking anymore and alcohol brings out the inner jerk in people (complete strangers.)

I didn’t really leave myself enough time to make a real elaborate costume. I was very cost effective by wearing a cardi + tank from my work that are new arrivals. I’ll be able to wear them right through Winter at work for dress code. The skirt was $14 at Urban Planet. The two feathers cost $8. I’m wearing peacock coloured makeup that is GOSH brand that I bought on sale at Shoppers Drug Mart. I spent $30.00 on 4 different things (they were all 50% off)

Dave was AC Slater. He wore a ton of bronzer and even had on some oil on his arms.

Now that Halloween is over I can start thinking about Christmas. I do plan on making a slew of handmade ornaments.
